In short
GMANO translates your calls and chats. To do that, what you say has to be turned into text, translated and spoken again by an AI. We do this one spoken turn at a time, we do not keep recordings of your calls, and we never use your voice without your consent.
Who we are
The data controller for GMANO (gmano.com) is ROSEMONKEY LIMITED (company no. 14801424), C/O Bareham & Co, 25 Cabot Square, London, United Kingdom, E14 4QZ. Questions about privacy: support@gmano.com.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, a securely hashed password, the language you speak, the AI voice you chose and whether translation is on.
- Consent: when you agreed to the use of your voice for translation, and which version of the text you agreed to.
- Contacts: the GMANO users you have added.
- Chat messages: the text you send and its translation. The text is sent to OpenAI for translation, and both are stored so you and the other person can read the conversation later.
- Call history: who called whom, when, and for how long. We need this to bill translated time correctly.
- Payments: what you bought, when and for how much. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
Your voice and audio during calls
This is how a translated call works:
- Your speech is recorded one spoken turn at a time — from when you start talking until you pause.
- That piece of audio is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which turns it into text (speech-to-text), translates the text and produces speech in the other person's language (text-to-speech).
- The translated speech is played to the other person. After it has been delivered, GMANO does not store the audio — neither yours nor the AI's.
- The text captions shown during the call live only in memory while the call is on. They are not saved after the call.
OpenAI processes this data on our behalf to provide the service. Under OpenAI's terms for API customers, data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default, and it may be kept by OpenAI for a limited time for abuse monitoring.
The voice the other person hears is an AI voice chosen to match your speaking style. It is always labelled as an AI voice on screen. It is not a copy of your own voice.
Your choices
- Consent: we use your voice for translation only after you have agreed to it. Without consent, calls are not translated.
- Translation off: you can switch translation off at any time, for a single call or in your Profile. Your voice is then passed through as it is, without any AI processing.
- Delete your account: in Profile you can delete your account. Your name, contacts, chat list, call history and login are removed. Messages you sent remain in the other person's chat. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires (bookkeeping rules).
- Access and correction: you can see and change your details in Profile, or write to support@gmano.com for a copy of the data we hold about you.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your card details directly and handles them under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of the payment, the amount and a reference.
Who else processes your data
- OpenAI — speech-to-text, translation and text-to-speech.
- Stripe — payments.
- Cloudflare — hosting of the website and app.
- Resend — sending verification emails.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. We rely on the safeguards they offer for international transfers.

We use a cookie to remember your site language and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

GMANO is not intended for children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country).
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update this page, and ask for your consent again if the change concerns the use of your voice. Questions or complaints: support@gmano.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
